Enjoy a scenic cruise from Clyde to Cromwell by boat for a unique perspective of The Lake Dunstan Trail, giving you amazing close up views of the trail & its spectacular engineering.

We step back no land to step back in time at the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, situated in a stunning setting. After exploring the boutique galleries and stores we then ride along the shores of Lake Dunstan towards Bannockburn and through stunning vineyards with a stop at the Carrick Vineyard Restaurant.

Along the way you can have one of the most remote coffees you’ll ever have whilst enjoying a day out on this fantastic trail – the award-winning Coffee Afloat and Burger Afloat at the base of the Cairnmuir Ladder.

Then finally a wonderful stop at The Clyde Rowing Club for a swim in the pristine waters of Lake Dunstan before heading back to Clyde past the dam.

Enjoy a 45 minute scenic cruise from Clyde to Cromwell and experience The Lake Dunstan Trail by boat for a unique perspective. Passengers will have amazing close up views of the trail & its spectacular engineering, including the cantilevered sections & the Hugo swing bridge.

Explore the Cromwell Heritage Precinct and take a step back in time to the pre lake Dunstan days. Situated in a stunning setting at the confluence of the lake, explore the boutique galleries, retail stores, restaurants and cafés.

From Cromwell you will ride along the shores of Lake Dunstan towards Bannockburn through stunning vineyards.

Coffee Afloat and Burger Afloat -The award winning floating cafe is docked halfway along the trail so you can enjoy one of the most remote coffees you’ll ever have whilst enjoying a day out on this fantastic trail. Barista coffee, cold drinks, ice creams, fresh baking and snacks and even burgers at the base of the Cairnmuir Ladder!

Stop at The Clyde Rowing Club for a swim in the pristine waters of Lake Dunstan before following the road & the blue signs past the dam back into Clyde.

Central Otago Rail Trail

An amazing day sampling the Otago Central Rail Trail. A scenic bike ride through stunning landscapes, featuring historic gold mining towns, picturesque vineyards, and rugged terrain.

This section is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the rail trail as it cuts through the Raggedy Range that separates the Manuherikia and Ida Valleys. Ideal for all skill levels.

Highlights include the 37m high Poolburn Viaduct, two tunnels, the trails longest bridge and of course, Central Otago’s stunning landscapes.

We will transfer by van up the Manuherikia Valley to Auripo Road. The Poolburn Gorge section through to Clyde is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Otago Central Rail Trail as it cuts through the Raggedy Range that separates the Manuherikia and Ida Valleys and includes the 37m high Poolburn Viaduct, two tunnels, the trails longest bridge.

You also have the option to take a 5km side trip from Omakau to historic Ophir and across the Daniel O’connell Bridge, before cycling down Tiger Hill to Chatto Creek. From Chatto, ride across the Galloway straight all the way back to Clyde via the Rail Trail or the very scenic Alexandra to Clyde River Trail.
