Enjoy a scenic cruise from Clyde to Cromwell by boat for a unique perspective of The Lake Dunstan Trail, giving you amazing close up views of the trail & its spectacular engineering.

We step back no land to step back in time at the Cromwell Heritage Precinct, situated in a stunning setting. After exploring the boutique galleries and stores we then ride along the shores of Lake Dunstan towards Bannockburn and through stunning vineyards with a stop at the Carrick Vineyard Restaurant.

Along the way you can have one of the most remote coffees you’ll ever have whilst enjoying a day out on this fantastic trail – the award-winning Coffee Afloat and Burger Afloat at the base of the Cairnmuir Ladder.

Then finally a wonderful stop at The Clyde Rowing Club for a swim in the pristine waters of Lake Dunstan before heading back to Clyde past the dam.

Enjoy a 45 minute scenic cruise from Clyde to Cromwell and experience The Lake Dunstan Trail by boat for a unique perspective. Passengers will have amazing close up views of the trail & its spectacular engineering, including the cantilevered sections & the Hugo swing bridge.

Explore the Cromwell Heritage Precinct and take a step back in time to the pre lake Dunstan days. Situated in a stunning setting at the confluence of the lake, explore the boutique galleries, retail stores, restaurants and cafés.

From Cromwell you will ride along the shores of Lake Dunstan towards Bannockburn through stunning vineyards.

Coffee Afloat and Burger Afloat -The award winning floating cafe is docked halfway along the trail so you can enjoy one of the most remote coffees you’ll ever have whilst enjoying a day out on this fantastic trail. Barista coffee, cold drinks, ice creams, fresh baking and snacks and even burgers at the base of the Cairnmuir Ladder!

Stop at The Clyde Rowing Club for a swim in the pristine waters of Lake Dunstan before following the road & the blue signs past the dam back into Clyde.

“The Original”

Central Otago Rail Trail

An amazing day on New Zealand’s original great ride. Up to the Manuherikia Valley, cutting over the Blacks Hill to Auripo Road. This section is undoubtedly one of the highlights of the Otago Central Rail Trail as it cuts through the Raggedy Range that separates the Manuherikia and Ida Valleys.

Highlights include the 37m high Poolburn Viaduct, two tunnels, the trails longest bridge and of course, Central Otago’s stunning landscapes.

You will have the option to take a 5km side trip from Omakau to historic Ophir and across the Daniel O’connell Bridge.

Then we head via Tiger Hill to Chatto Creek, across the Galloway Straight all the way back to Clyde via the Rail Trail or the very scenic Alexandra to Clyde River Trail.

Roxburgh Gold

The Roxburgh Gorge, Clutha River Track and Clutha Gold Trails

Experience the beauty and history of the Roxburgh Gorge Trail as you follow the mighty Clutha/Mata-Au River. You will be lost in the beauty and remoteness of the gorge with schist rock bluffs and crystal clear waters.

The journey through the gorge includes a scenic jet boat ride past hidden gold mining sites while you learn about the history of the area.

Cycle over the Roxburgh Dam & join the Clutha Gold Trail into Roxburgh township. You will be greeted by charming cafes & shops & the beautiful orchards that make the region famous.

Your adventure starts in the charming village of Clyde. After your comprehensive safety & information briefing, you’ll be equipped with top-of-the-line bikes and gear, and set off on a scenic ride along the mighty Clutha River, enjoy the slightly undulating trail through poplar & willow trees until you reach Alexandra where the trail enters the Roxburgh Gorge.
From here the landscape changes drastically & you will take in towering cliffs & crystal clear waters. Continue your journey through the stunning landscape, and discover the fascinating history of the area. Stop to admire the unique flora & fauna along the way.

At Doctors point you will board the Jet Boat for your historical boat tour and transfer down the Clutha River. As you cruise down the river, take in the stunning views and learn about the fascinating gold mining history of the area.

After your boat tour, it’s back on the bikes for the second half of your adventure. You’ll pedal through the beautiful and rugged landscape, taking in breathtaking views and don’t forget to stop & enjoy your picnic lunch.

Cycle over the Roxburgh Dam & join the Clutha Gold Trail into Roxburgh township. You will be greeted by charming cafes & shops & the beautiful orchards that make the region famous.

Enjoy a pie at the Famous Jimmy’s pies whilst waiting for your ride back to Clyde in our Luxury Mercedes Van.

From Clyde you will head off on a delightful 24km loop ride from Clyde to Alexandra & return. This dual purpose trail is suitable for the whole family.

Experience 10km of the Central Otago Rail Trail before stopping to explore the township of Alexandra. Cross the mighty Alexandra bridge and return via the River Track. A pleasant gently undulating trail that follows the mighty Clutha Mata Au River all the way back to Clyde.

Linger for a while in the delightful historic township of Clyde and enjoy a gourmet lunch with a local bottle of Pinot from one of Clyde’s premier wineries. The perfect way to finish your day tripper!
